So I’ve been living in Wellington, Florida for the last few months for work. For some reason, I’ve waited until my very last week here to check out the local Barnes & Noble. Being a huge book nerd, you’d think I would have checked the place out sooner, but alas, I did not. I’m very glad I finally went in though, to say the least. I guess they have their own collection of classic books and stories, and a lot of “complete works of ___” so you can imagine my delight when I found their own Edgar Allan Poe Complete Works. Officially entitled “The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe

I was so excited to find this, I just had to share!

Beautiful Design

It’s a beautiful, hardcover book and it only cost me $20!! Now, that’s $20 american. I’m sure it would have cost me a little more of my Canadian dollars, but my company has been supplying us with a little extra cash to make up for the sad, sad state of the Canadian dollar.

The striking red and black design caught my eye immediately, and the raven in the middle completes it. I was intrigued even before I discovered it was an Edgar Allan Poe book – who I have been a fan of for a very long time.

It’s not only the outside of the book that I find so gorgeous though. The inside cover has an awesome picture of a raven and the moon.

Annabel Lee

Of course as soon as I got home, I opened the book up and immediately tracked down my very favourite Poe poem, and also his last published work, Annabel Lee. This poem was the inspiration for one of my very favourite concept albums of all time, by a band that I’ve loved for many, many years. You can read more about this album called The Emptiness by clicking here!

The book even comes complete with a lovely red silk bookmark built in!

I’m so glad I found this before I left. I’m super excited to finally go home, but I’m also super happy to be bringing this with me!

To complete my little bookworm shopping spree, I also picked up a really neat bookmark – a kind that I’ve never used before. It’s very cool and even matches the book a little bit, which is really what caught my eye.

It’s a very bright red string with two little charms attached. A symbol which means “courage” and a cute little dragon on the other end.

Overall a very successful little outing – and a beautiful new book that I’m so excited to own!

“The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe” is EXCLUSIVE to Barnes & Noble, hence why I’m so glad I found it before leaving the States!

If you want to order a copy you can head over to their website – they even currently have free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

OMG my husband love Edgar Allan Poe!
I am so glad you shared with us. What a great find!! I have hardly any time to go to a book store but get books online.
He already has some of Poe’s works but he would love a complete works by Poe in one hardback book. I can’t tell how thick the book is, how many pages does it have? The book cover looks awesome and it’s always nice to get a nice ribbon book mark that is attached 🙂
This will make a great gift and I am so excited to get it for him. It’s perfect!

What sort of books does your uncle like to read? If he likes Edgar Allan Poe (the author/poet featured in the book from this this post) then I would recommend this book that I’ve talked about right here! All of the books I’ve reviewed here on the website are excellent as well – although they are mostly geared towards young adults.

But if you tell me what kinda of books he likes then I can definitely give some suggestions 🙂

I love Edgar Allan Poe! When I was young I used to read a lot of inspired stories from his work. I even have him in my best authors list on my website! It certainly a wonderful coincidence to find a book like this. Enjoy it and I’m going to get me one too thanks to you! 🙂
